LIGHT
I will fling open the lid
on my soul
free
the flapping
bats of fear
to froth
into the night of
my past.
Childlike wonderment
stutters into
my chest
at the deliverance
of chaos
into gloom
Descending
calm
flourishing into
longing for
light.
JOY
Enchanted
by the laugh
lilting softly
on damaged.
Peace in the quiet of
moments
so beautiful
words
cannot play.
Frolicking in
warm chaos of
morning sounds
familiar
because
you are mine.
Rapture in the
knowing of
nights
where hurting
wants.
Solace in the
knowing if
darkness hurts
succour heals.
Love.
Joy.
You.
FAITH
So we built our
forest through a
house fraught with
fears and
They that sought to poison
suckling saplings
of joy
shrunk from
love
shining smooth
from tears of sap
leaked into
fragrant fruition
green and spongy
intertwined
redolent ropes of
faith
nourished by
rich earth
fertilized with pain
of brittle bark
shed into
nothingness.
